With Aonishiki doing pretty well it will be fun to see how he does this year. Also I didn't realize how small he is or how big Shishi is until they had their match. I was really surprised how small he looked next to Shishi.
Aonishiki is a power cube. As always with new guys in the division, the second tournament is the most telling. A few guys have gotten hot starts at the low maegashira ranking and then struggled after they were bumped up to M10 or lower (Kinbozan, Oshoma, Onokatsyu, Churanoumi in recent memory).
I hope he's as good as I think he is, though. At 20 he is really far from his peak. Hopefully injuries or bad luck don't prevent us seeing that.

I was wondering about how the next one goes too. See if people start figuring him out.
I don't think he's physically near his peak either. When he puts on some muscle weight he's gonna be intimidating.
I have been impressed by Aonishiki’s technique, especially for a 20 yr old.
Yesterday I commented, "Wow. Papa Bear Takayasu has already beaten Kotozakura! Who else stands in his way?"
Now we know, lol.
Rooting for Onosato to win but more for Kotozakura to find a way to a winning record
